Teaching and Workshops

Nandi began her teaching experiences as a yoga teacher in the Satyananda Ashram in NSW and Victoria, and also taught yoga at the Beacon Yoga Centre in Fremantle.

Voicebox reading Dec 2007After doing an undergraduate degree in media and writing, she trained as a primary school teacher and worked with students with learning difficulties. She later trained for her Certificate IV in Workplace Training.

Nandi has worked in the remote community of Pukatja (Ernabella) in far north of South Australia, assisting in the Ananu teacher training program.

Her teaching experience includes primary school teaching, lecturing at Edith Cowan University and at Challenger Institute of Technology, and running a variety of writing workshops in the community. She has worked with seniors on the Memory Photography, History Project, and with people of all ages in her writing and walking workshops.

She has a passion for taking people out of the classroom and walking in their local environments and has run many workshops on Poepatetics or the art of walking and writing.

Lectures and Talks

Nandi is an experienced speaker, having presented poetry readings, talks, lectures and conference presentations, on topics related to writing, walking and environmental activism. She is available as a speaker and workshop presenter.
